Top Ten Ways Liberals Try to Act Conservative Part 2

Lie

3) If we lowered taxes and stopped government run charity, most people wouldn’t donate their extra money to help the needy so therefore the government must do it to help the poor.

Truth

That’s just assuming the worst, and I can almost understand this because human nature is pretty selfish sometimes. But billions of dollars have been given for the Tsunami relief in 2004, Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 victims. If Americans have given this much already why would we assume given more money that Americans would suddenly become stingy. The fact is private citizens and private charities are far more efficient with their money than any government agency. While some individuals would be selfish the poor and needy would be far better served by private charities than by the government

Lie

4) Shouldn’t we just compromise and all get along?

Truth

Just going along and getting along sounds good but people should think and meditate on what politicians tell them and promise them. The truth is important. We could simply bury our heads in the sand for the sake of getting along, but who would that really serve? In the short term there would be less arguments, but then no one would question whether something was really good or not. Neville Chamberlain wanted to get along, so he helped give Hitler part of the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia. He thought he could appease Hitler. It didn’t work and Hitler’s promise of peace was a lie. If people would have listened to Winston Churchill who said that Chamberlain and other politicians were wrong to appease Hitler, maybe World War II could have been avoided.

I doubt people would still give as much when the economy is bad. In tough economic times people give less, so What happens then? There will still be poor people that need help. Im not saying that the gov’t needs to be there to solve every problem but its doesn’t hurt for them to look out for some people.

Ummm… I don’t even know where to start lol, where you at threedegrees, you wanna take this one?

Liberals act like conservatives because they… ignore the truth to get along? Is that what you’re saying? Are you saying republicans always look for the truth and dems don’t?

Be a little more clear before you make random and unbased assumptions about other people.

Now you’re just wildly out of control and jumping topic like John McCain on, well, everything.

You’re first “lie” sounds more like the deregulation platform attributed to the Reaganites and Gingriches of the world, and by that I mean John McCain and Phil Gramm. Habitat for Humanity was created as a result of the federal government’s Republican philosophy of “lowering taxes” and “slashing government funding”. Who created that organization? Oh yeah, it was some crack pot peanut farmer who warned us about an energy crisis in the ’70’s and installed solar panels on the White House.

I’m pretty sure you’re trying to lump Democrats in with Hitler in the second part, and I honestly don’t believe you’re that dense. I think you may be grasping at straws, trying to find a black sock in a warehouse without lights, or simply hiding your head in the sand. Kind of like what is required of followers of a supernatural belief system when confronted with facts.
